MUSIC PRODUCTION 11/12

This course is an introduction to the skills and knowledge needed to compose and produce music. It is a technology based creative arts course, where you will learn how to use modern production software (Ableton Live) and hardware to develop and realize your creative vision.

 

While prior musical experience isn’t required, it is certainly an asset. Music technology can make getting the ideas out of your head and into sound much easier, but it still requires you to be proficient in the language of music in order to get it to do what you want it to do. Parts of this course are dedicated to developing our understanding of the language of music and music theory.

Your time in this class will be spent working on projects, collaborating with your peers, and sharing your music with the class, school, and community at large. By the end of the course, you will have completed a number of different compositions, begun developing your musical voice, and a clear understanding of your strengths and weaknesses and how to address them as your continue your growth as a musician.
